Your First Visit
This will be a new thing for you! American doctors don't have any needles
as small as ours. They are hair-fine. "I didn't even feel it," or "Oh! Is that all?" are pretty much the 2 things I hear at every first visit.
We will chat a lot about your health history, I'll look at your tongue, and we will have you lie down. We might do a little cupping if it seems right and
you are open to it, or we may just start with a few acupuncture needles.
Once those are in, it is your job to relax. Maybe take a little nap. I'll play
some music, your mind can wander, your body can reset, and you will get
to leave feeling like you are on cloud 9.
We will also make a plan for how often you may need to come in to get rid
of your ailments. After almost 20 years of treating people on both coasts,
I can make a pretty good guess on what you'll need. Our goal is to fix your problem, not have you come in forever - though that can be nice too if it
is what you like. Regular maintenance is great for healthy longevity.
Come with a little food in you and wear loose clothing if you are able. If not, I've got towels and wraps and we will find our way. Needles mostly go in arms and legs.
I've started making a few videos here for frequently asked questions. I'm no video master, but hopefully they are helpful. Take a peek if you'd like. I look forward to you enjoying your treatment.
